Duo Series
Offered in Canada from 2007-2020, the Duo series was the entry-priced trailer for horses to 17hh! A solid horse trailer with saddle storage, with either an English or Western tack cupboard. Suited for horses up to 17h, the stalls were 31′ wide, with adjustable chest and rear stall bars to accommodate different sizes of horses or ponies. Following a change in offerings to its overseas markets, the Duo is no longer offered in Canada. Still a model produced for the European market, parts and accessories remain available through Maple Lane Equestrian Trailers. GVWR of 2400kg/5291lbs with 3.75% Loaded Tongue Weight (LTW) places 198lbs of max weight onto the tongue of the tow vehicle.
The Duo series comprised of 3 different models: Duo C- trailer with no tack storage; Duo R – trailer offering English tack cupboard; and Duo C Western – trailer offered with a Western tack cupboard and lower stall bar settings to better accommodate breeds typical in Western disciplines.
SpecificationsWhat Makes the Duo models Unique?
The Duo models were built from an insulating 13-ply baltic birch laminate wall, covered in a UV protected colour. Floors were 1″plywood sandwiched between hard PVC coating, with a thick adhesive applied to the horse stall side to secure a rubber mat, which was sealed to the walls. This application prevented mold growing between the rubber mat and the floor, reducing the opportunity for rot. The roof was made of a thick polyester, formed to keep air flowing around the trailer, reducing any vacuum build-up or drag behind the trailer. The roof reflected the sun’s heat in the summer keeping the trailer cool inside relative to the summer temperatures, as it was not made of metal. Tinted pop-out windows, an external release of all stall bars in models from 2011 onward, trailer tie rings, hay net hook in the roof and a variety of tack storage options, made the Duo series a complete trailer that did not empty the pocketbook! NO longer offered as new models, accessories and parts remain available through the Dealership.

Chassis
Duo models have a galvanized steel chassis frame. The steel chassis secures the solid PVC-encased wood floor. Under the floor, there are longitudinal bars as well as cross-member pieces to provide the greatest strength.
Interior
The Duo had two 31” wide stalls + 7’6” internal height. The saddle chest sits in the nose of the trailer. Two tinted pop-out windows allow air to flow into the trailer. A hay ring centered in the roof and a bracket on top of the saddle chest offer different positions to tether hay bags or hay nets. Rings for trailer ties are found at the level of the chest bar. This allows the horses to lower their heads for balance and clear their sinuses.
