An extra 30cm of floor space ahead of the chest bar, as compared to the Master ’21 (old Big Master) model, provides a very roomy feeling. Super trailer for large ponies to horses of 18hh, with its increased weight to 2700kg/5952LBS GVWR (250lbs max LTW, 4% of total weight towed).

The Grand Master SKA makes a statement. The uniquely Böckmann alloy wheels are a standard feature on the Grand Master. Beautiful black inset for the 2 sliding lateral windows on each side is a great contrast to the white walls and roof – this feature is unique to Grand Master models. A roof vent, also standard, draws air into the trailer and adds to the bright interior.

Extra long and rated for 2700kg/5952lbs GVWR, this trailer has room for 2 horses to 18 hh, hay and your tack. Two 33″ wide stalls + internal height 7’6″ with an extra 2′ ahead of the chest bar offers room for you to change or sit out of the rain when at a competition or trail. Easily towed by mid to large SUVs and all trucks, the Grand Master will turn heads wherever you tow it.

The extended version of its regular Portax SKA cousin, the L- Version has so many extras:
– 63cm more floor space ahead of the chest bars;

– 2 portable feed/water buckets,
– stool to reach the air vent in roof , and
– the generous SKA tack cupboard- accessible from both outside and inside the trailer.
The full polyester walls reduce the overall weight of the superstructure, but also act as an insulator. The walls reflect the sun’s heat vs absorbing it, so the inner temperature is cooler than the external temperature on a hot sunny day! You can choose any colour of wall and roof and be assured of a cool interior for your horses in hot weather, and a warm one in the cold Canadian Winter.
Standard Features:
The Grand Master SKA’s extra length allows for side positions for portable feed buckets. Hay net rings on each side of the trailer, and trailer tie loops at the chest bar. Two sliding tinted windows on each wall for more air flow. The roof vent plus vented & integrated wind screen in the rear storm canvas, offers you lots of air flow control. Adjustable stall bar settings create the correct stall space for your horse. Central post and swivel dividers, known from the Portax models, allows you increased room for loading, grooming or tacking up on the trailer!
Easy access to the saddle storage from both inside and outside the trailer. The features that make this a superior trailer are endless. From the WCF suspension system (coil spring/trailing arms additional dampers and shocks), galvanized steel chassis with galvanized and stainless steel hardware, reinforced polyester walls and a polyester roof, rubber treading on the 5′ rear ramp, foam chest bar covers, and padded side walls, to the external stall bar release system and adjustable stall bar positions, tinted pop-out windows and excellent storage. What’s not to love??
German Engineering at its best!
A uniquely designed polyester roof changes the air flow. This shape reduces drag, minimizing fuel consumption and the chance of sway. Grand Master models have a built in “hill” for the air to flow over, pulls the air into the trailer through the roof vent. The air flows out the back through the wind screen or fully opened storm canvas, keeping the trailer temperate. A curved rear roof line and built in spoiler complete the aerodynamics.
Böckmann is a better balanced trailer due to its axle placement centered under the load. With less than 4% of towed weight leaning on the trailer, a Böckmann horse trailer is the perfect fit behind mid-size SUVs.
Smooth ride for your precious cargo! KNOTT ‘s self-adjusting overrun braking system (mechanical) provides consistent, even braking. KNOTT’s elite 2″ coupler with integrated coupler lock is able to swivel around the ball. This unique feature provides security both in transit and when your trailer is parked.
Böckmann’s WCF Suspension is an automotive suspension- unique to the horse trailer world. As seen under cars and trucks, the suspension arms move independently. The addition of rubber dampers and the WCF shocks keep the road chatter at the road. Your horses arrive rested at their destinations.
Wheels are mounted to hug the road – same as your tow vehicle – reducing the chance of sway! Wheel chocks included with every Böckmann trailer for long term parking.
